Flowing Meridian for wellBeing

Acupuncture

This holistic healing system originated over three thousand years ago in China.  The wisdom of this medicine is understanding that when there is imbalance, sickness will occur. Acupuncture helps to regain balance by regulating the energetic field of our body. The Ancient Traditions call this life force, Qi (Chi). One of the literal translations of Qi is “breath” or “spark of life.” The body is made up of about 70% water. Think of your body like an ocean with currents of energy flowing through it. Specific pathways or meridians are like rivers that move within the body. For centuries these meridians have been mapped out; over 365 points have been defined along these pathways. Each point helps in a specific way to support the body’s ability to heal and regain a state of balance.  A “team” of points working together is specifically design for each individual for optimal outcome. As balance and harmony is restored, the body can repair and heal. These points are stimulated through the insertion of very fine needles. They are sterile and disposed of after a one time use.

Cupping

This therapy helps with blood circulation and Qi flow within the superficial layers of muscle and tissue.  Small cups are used over specific areas of the body.  A vacuum is created under the cup using suction.  These cups may be moved over an affected area or left in place.  Cupping can be used to help muscular aches and pain, tension areas, colds, bronchitis and inflammation around the joints.

Herbal Medicine

The power of plant and organic based medicine has been held in high honor and used for healing throughout the centuries. Cultures across the world have used herbs in daily living. Chinese herbs have been used and studied for over 3,000 years.

Herbs are a tremendous component to the healing nature of Traditional Acupuncture.

Herbal Therapy can be used to strengthen your body’s resistance to disease and help regain the homeostasis (regulating balance) in your body.  Certain herbs can decrease cold/flu symptoms, increase energy, improve digestion, support sleep, improve breathing, decrease pain, and improve menopausal symptoms… to offer a few examples.

Acupressure and Essential Oils

This therapy is used to help regulate the individuals constitution; body-mind-spirit.  Essential oils are absorbed into the bloodstream, through inhalation and absorption on the skin, and dispersed to specific organs and systems throughout the body.

Essential oil is made up of chemical constituents. Each oil is unique and has different components to aid in: anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, antiseptic, sedative, hormone regulating, and immune-stimulating (to offer a few examples). Only therapeutic quality and pure graded Essentials Oils are used and properly dispersed.

Integrative Nutrition, Intentional Breathing & Live Choices

Food is medicine.  How am I nourishing myself through the food I eat, the water I drink, and the air I breath? How is my breathing? Is it tight and constricted or is there rhythm and ease with each inhalation and exhalation? Is there a good balance in the day of sleep, movement, rest, play, work and relationships?  In which areas do I excel?  Where am I most challenged?

Wellness is a lifetime process.  Great care is taken to help you actively participate in creating life choices that support your wellbeing. Empowerment is part of the healing process.
